College Honors Program

  • Cumulative UW GPA of 3.3
  • Cumulative COFS GPA of: 3.5 for SAFS -or- 3.4 for Oceanography
  • Completion of normal School requirements
  • Completion of at least one 3 class Honors sequence in Natural Sciences. The default sequence is Marine Biology. However, other sequences, including Biology, Chemistry, or Physics can be taken by special arrangement with the UW Honors Program.
  • Completion of 11-12 credits of senior thesis, including
    • Oceanography of Puget Sound (OCEAN 442 - 3 credits) -or- Fisheries Techniques (FISH 210 - 5 credits)
    • Directed seminar (e.g., FISH 522 1-2 credits)
    • Directed research (6-9 credits)
    • Publication quality manuscript (as independently assessed)
    • Oral presentation in a public forum
    • Poster presentation in a public forum
