Name The Vent Contest

As we were looking for a place on the ocean floor to set down the thermal blanket, we stumbled across a hydrothermal vent covered with tube worms and spider crabs. This web page is to announce that, as discoverers of this vent, we get to name it. We thought it would be fun to let you choose a name for it. We will add an extra page where you can submit a name. Any name will do, but remember that you will also be judged on why you picked the name you did. Please send only one entry. If you send more than one, only your first one will count.

The winner will recieve a piece of pillow bassalt from the site, the latitude and longitude location of the site, a map of the site with their name and the name they chose for the site, and maybe more - we haven't decided yet.

This contest is opened to everyone, so you have just as good of a chance at winning as anyone else.

Submit your entry below now. We can't wait to get those names in.
