Thin-cell Simulation of Porous Medium Hydrothermal Convection
The percolating hot fluid beneath the sea-floor exhibits convective roles and plumes
with a delicate structure. This laboratory model complements numerical simulations of the
same phenomenon. Interaction occurs with the seawater above bottom. If saline brine is
present it leads to a bifurcating plume structure.
