he Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) at Texas A&M University invites applications for the position of
Marine Laboratory Specialist with the Technical and Analytical Department. These positions may require up to six
(6) months at sea per year on the research vessel JOIDES Resolution, which operates worldwide on two-month
scientific drilling expeditions. This position performs the responsibilities of a lab technician aboard the
research ship on a nominally two-month at sea, two month ashore rotation. Duties include calibrating, operating
and maintaining analytical instruments and equipment, analyzing samples with responsibility for collecting and
entering data, and interfacing with a diverse, international scientific party.
