Physical Oceanography

My research resides at a synergetic overlap between geophysical fluid dynamics, physical oceanography, and climate dynamics. I am interested in a wide range of problems in mesoscale ocean turbulence, submesoscale sea ice-ocean interactions, mathematical models of sea ice dynamics,  laboratory experiments with rotating fluids, remote sensing, as well as exploring applications of Deep Learning Neural Networks to theoretical problems in ocean turbulence.

I will be looking to take graduate students, postdocs, undergraduate students searching for summer research experience as well as visiting student who would like to perform experiments at the GFD lab. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions: gmanuch@uw.edu
