As the long-term research technician of Dr. Jody Deming I offer knowledge in areas of epifluorescence microscopy, culturing bacteria under extremes of temperature, pressure and salinity, measurement of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS), and shipboard/field collection of biological and chemical samples from extreme environments.
I can also offer advice or assistance regarding lab recycling and the UW Green Labs program, deep-frozen sample storage, Marine Science Building (MSB) shared equipment (autoclaves, dishwashers, ovens, etc.), and general laboratory-oriented inquiries.
I am also a research collaborator for Dr. Karen Junge at the Polar Science Center (PSC) at the Applied Physics Lab in Benjamin Hall. You can follow THIS LINK to get there, or view our last project on Rotten Ice.
